Tsubaki congratulates winners World Cup Football competition

In June 2010, the World Cup Football Tournament took place in South Africa. Tsubaki has offered its partners and their customers the opportunity to join in a web-competition and win fantastic prizes.

European President hails the introduction of GT4 Winner

Despite the changing business environment Tsubaki has a very clear mission: to be a solution provider by offering a better Total Cost of Ownership for the final customer through significantly superior fatigue strength and lifetime of our chain.

There's a trend in engineering for some manufacturers to opt for low cost countries but Tsubaki made a big decision and a big investment to build the most advanced chain plant and technical centre in Japan. Our Kyotanabe facility is now the world's leading facility for the manufacture of premier chains.

The BS/DIN standard GT4 Winner chain has been developed and produced in the Kyotanabe factory in Japan, with all engineering, materials and parts fully under the control of Tsubaki. We are very confident that the Total Cost of Ownership, taking into consideration production cost, maintenance cost, production downtime and other factors, will show significant advantage to customers.

GT4 Winner has very unique features for the European market which are proprietary to Tsubaki: "Solid Bush with Oil Grooves inside" providing significantly longer wear life. "Ring Coin Connecting Link" for higher fatigue strength. In addition, consideration for the environment is achieved through the reduction of CO2 output to the atmosphere.

Over the past few weeks, our sales & marketing staff have been travelling across Europe introducing the new product with key partners. In France, Tsubaki started the Roadshow in Paris, followed by Lyon and Poitiers. In Germany, our distributors were invited to Stuttgart and Köln and for the Benelux, the Roadshows were organised at the Tsubaki headquarters in Dordrecht. Two hundred distributors visited the Roadshows in South Africa and in the United Kingdom we also held two roadshows that were visited by roughly 75 distributors. Next on the agenda are the Roadshows in Spain and several local country introductions to key industries across Europe.

TSUBAKI sets new standard for RS roller chain

Tsubaki, the world's largest and most advanced manufacturer of roller chain has released a new 4th generation BS/DIN standard roller chain. The latest generation chain, branded Tsubaki GT4 Winner hosts a number of manufacturing and materials developments.

Pre Lubrication Lube Groove (LG) Bush
Tsubaki Lube Groove (LG) seamless bushes are precision components and perfectly cylindrical. Our special lube grooves hold oil at the point of contact, where the chain needs it most, providing an internal reservoir for lubricant. The result is a chain that lasts longer with lower maintenance costs over the lifetime of the chain.

Seamless Bush > Perfectly Cylindrical
The new Tsubaki BS/DIN series chain has a seamless bush with a very precise cylindrical profile and surface finish resulting in better surface contact between the pin and bush, and improved lubricant retention.

Easy dis-assembly
With Tsubaki's design of rivet head the chain is easily dis-assembled with an additional benefit being that in the event of the chain being overloaded, the markings on the rivet head will identify pin rotation.

Increased Transmission Capacity > Ring Coining
The Ring Coined connecting link allows the chain to be specified up to its full kW rating. The precision and strength achieved on these components is far beyond that of competitor's offerings. The typical standard slip-fit connecting link is usually much weaker than the other links. Tsubaki's Ring Coin technology has overcome that.

Tsubaki takes its environmental responsibility very seriously in its state-of-the-art production facilities. The new BS/DIN series chain contributes significantly to reducing CO2 emissions due to the greatly extended replacement frequency.

Supplied in a new high quality box design for the European market, GT4 Winner is available in sizes 06B to 40B as standard, with larger sizes available on request. Both simplex and duplex variants are available, with a triplex variant available to order and as a stock item later in the year. Stock of the new GT4 Winner chain will be held by TSUBAKI throughout Europe and by many leading distribution partners, making it available for next-day delivery in most areas.

Tsubaki Technical Seminar at Transmision, Spain

On the 5th of May distributors from all over Spain and Portugal gathered in Madrid to join the 2 day seminar that was organised as a co-operation between Transmision and Tsubaki.

In an informal setting, all 22 participants shared experiences, market developments, technological innovations and requirements. Many questions were raised, and answered. Judging from the reactions of the participants the seminar was a great success. Tsubaki is already looking forward to the next seminar, which will be organised for final customers in Portugal, and will take place end of May in Porto.

The fourth edition of the Tsubaki Institute of Technology (T.I.T.) Europe, organized by Tsubakimoto Europe was a huge success. Tsubaki partners from all over the territory covered by Tsubakimoto Europe B.V. gathered to share experiences, market developments, technological innovations and requirements.

In an informal setting of course, leaving the participants the time to expand their network and exchange ideas or just to have a chat. Judging from the reactions all participants felt more than welcome within the Tsubaki family. In turn Tsubaki would like to thank all participants for making this seminar such a success. Tsubaki is already looking forward to the next Tsubaki Institute of Technology Europe.

Masaya Ushida is the new president of Tsubakimoto Europe B.V., the European H.Q. of the world's number one chain manufacturer, Tsubakimoto Chain Co. In the last 20 years Mr. Ushida only lived in Japan for 5 of them, having worked in a number of Tsubaki group companies across the world for the other 15 years. He was director of U.S. Tsubaki Inc., president of Taiwan Tsubakimoto Co. as well as president of Tsubaki Canada Ltd. Under his leadership, Tsubaki intends to grow substantially in Europe (West, Central & Eastern), Africa and the Middle East.

Masaya confirmed, "When I came to Tsubakimoto Europe, my first message to our employees was "Be honest, be positive, and let's have discussion". This is not only crucial for our company internally. I believe that we have to be fundamentally honest to our customers and honest to our suppliers. We also need to be positive towards any request from our customers and suppliers, along with nurturing good discussion for further mutual improvement."

New reference source for roller chain

Tsubaki has launched three new European product catalogues containing a wealth of information about the company's extensive range of innovative problem solving drive chains and all you will need to know about attachment chains.

The first catalogue covers STO (Standard order from stock) products, and the second BTO (Build to order) products such as attachment chains. A third catalogue is describing a selection of MTO (Made to order) products that have been designed and manufactured for particular applications - demonstrating the company's ability to create a roller chain from scratch to include materials and designs from the mundane to the exotic.

The STO and BTO catalogues are available in paper format and as free downloads from the recently updated company website http://tsubaki.eu. Each catalogue contains a large amount of information on the products provided including manufacturing methods, drawings and technical specifications. Both include innovative chains specially designed for certain applications, such as used in contamination-free processes, high-temperature environments, wet and corrosive conditions. The catalogues carry the new company brand identity associated with drive chains, attachment chains and large conveyor chains.

The STO catalogue offers customers a large and well varied selection of drive chains: BS and ANSI roller chain in standard sizes with performance and wear life that is anything but standard, the company's long established Lambda Lube-free roller chains, and a host of chains for corrosive environments. Heavy-duty chain, low noise roller chain and a range of high-strength leaf chain are included. Information about Tsubakimoto Europe is there, including reminders that dedicated field engineers and product application specialists are available for technical advice to ensure the correct chain for any given application is selected.

The BTO catalogue demonstrates the many options available to customers seeking an attachment chain. With over 1,300 possible attachment / chain variations there is an available option for virtually any application. Standard attachment chains are held in stock and so will often have a lead time as little as one or two days from order. Non-stock orders can be laser cut and ready for delivery within two weeks - this is much faster than possible with other brands. Tsubaki offers length-matched chain for pairs and multiple strand applications on short lead times. Tsubaki also has an entire production plant dedicated to making attachment chains and provides truly innovative solutions. The catalogue is an essential guide for what is available in terms of attachment chain in Europe.

Not many customers are expected to fully appreciate the possibilities of Tsubaki products until they have seen the new catalogues. In the case of MTO special products, Tsubaki will also manufacture chains completely to order. This is demonstrated in the third catalogue. Tsubaki has the ability to work with a customer to ensure their precise needs are met whether it is in lube-free material, super light, or super strong, the extremes of design can be dealt with here.

Tsubaki introduces Heat Resistant Lambda Chain

Tsubaki extends proven Lube-Free benefits of Heat Resistant Lambda chain into high temperature applications up to 230°C.

Tsubaki is providing all the non-lube, low maintenance benefits of its well proven Lambda chain in a Heat Resistant (K-Lambda) version that has an operational temperature range from 150°C to 230°C. The new Heat Resistant K-Lambda shows no degradation at high temperatures and offers over four times the wear life of standard RS50 chain at 230°C.

The launch of K-Lambda extends the lube-free, minimum elongation characteristics of Lambda chain into applications such as heat sealing in packaging, semiconductor production, dry and steel furnaces and die casting - for components such as automotive parts. Previously these processes would have been served by standard chains with special lubricants, which were both costly and did not offer good wear life.

In tests performed in a 230°C environment, Tsubaki's K-Lambda chain achieved over four times the wear life of RS50 standard chain without additional special lubricant, and about three and half times the life of Tsubaki's standard Lambda chain, which is designed for room-temperature operation.

The lube free performance of K-Lambda at high temperatures is the result of a construction that employs special oil impregnated bushes. Besides resistant to heat, the K-Lambda lubricant is NSF H-1 Food Grade; ideal for applications where it is an industry requirement. The oil-impregnated bushes provide stable lubrication and anti-wear properties for the chain at high temperatures. The design also employs specially coated pins, solid rollers and inner plates that are coated with nickel.

In addition to its high temperature performance, K-Lambda is part of Tsubaki's eco-friendly chain group and has undergone a life cycle assessment LCA. This is a systematic evaluation of the environmental aspects of the product through all stages of its life cycle, from raw materials to waste management, including recycling and final disposal. With the majority of Lambda chains the LCA has revealed real ecological benefits, with CO2 emissions reduced by 89.4%.
